Collection: Zhang Huan
Zhang Huan is a Chinese artist born in 1965 who lives and works in Shanghai and New York. Zhang is best known for his provocative large scale performance art, sculptures and photography.
His work can be found in the world's most important art collections and he is considered one of the most influential and provocative Chinese contemporary artists of our time.
Zhang’s artworks are widely collected by top Museums, important private and public collections such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Hermitage Museum, the Solomon Guggenheim Museum, the MacArthur Foundation, Centre Pompidou, Foundation Louis Vuitton Paris, Louvre Abu Dhabi, the National Gallery of Australia and Shanghai Art Museum to name a few.
In 2006, Zhang Huan and his wife Jun Jun Hu organized the Gao’an Foundation, providing support for educational, cultural, Buddhist and other charitable undertakings. The Foundation has built many Hope Elementary Schools in Western China.
