Introducing Chris RWK, born and raised in NYC and a true legend of the East Coast graffiti scene who has collaborated with some of the biggest names in the game. His online show "Till the End" comprises a fantastic collection of 100 original artworks and is his largest body of works yet. Fun and colourful with a nod to popular culture, we are delighted to be sharing these works with you.
Chris RWK’s world was often completely flooded with the imagery ideas presented by television, comic books, and the music and movies of the 70's and 80's and of course, robots! Immersed in these various mediums, Chris RWK began to store the images brought forward through these everyday experiences in his mental journal and started spraying up walls all over New York. You can find his work all over the world and it’s about time that work gets put on some killer canvases.
Chris RWK’s paintings frequently cite past conceptions of popular culture embedded in his psyche's cache. This use of intertextuality also serves to offer a comfort or familiarity of sorts to the viewer. Chris RWK’s works frequently reveal everyday musings and people one would pass on the street without looking or thinking about twice. These images also aid Chris RWK in the creation of a visual language comprised of his own iconographic imagery.
